Pollnabrock II by younghappy Pollnabrock II by younghappy
Location: Pollnabrock, North Sperrin Mountains,G arvagh, Co. Londonderry, Northern Ireland
______
I love this shot, beautiful desolation.

Pollnabrock or Poll na mBroc in Irish probably means Badgers' Hole or Hollow of the badgers

This is a continuation of the Tamnyrankin series, though by looking at the map, this is a new area called Pollnabrock; in Northern Ireland every mile or so is a different place name. I have a fascination for Irish place names as they can tell us something about the past geography or history of an area. Pollnabrock must've been local badger haunt.

This is the limit of the eastern edge of the north Sperrin mountains.
