This is a colour update of an older deviation: younghappy.deviantart.com/art/… In my spare time, I have been updating some of my older pictures that weren't processed very well originally. I was still processing my pictures through Picasa at this point, and I was using a poor quality monitor which resulted in extreme contrasts. I hope you like this update. I have gone for the lo-fi filmish look, I like it anyway.

This is really a study into the architecture of forests. A lot of the time when I'm shooting (with the camera) in a forest I get frustrated when I can't find any good compositions.

Then in dawned on me that I should embrace the randomness of nature rather than skipping over it.

Now this isn't a call to justify everything as a good subject in photography. You can't just take a crumby photograph and defend it by saying "But this is the way things are!"

I guess what I'm trying to say is that there is usually an element of the physical enviroment that moves the photographer in some way that makes them want to capture that element.

In this photograph it was the the sporadic beams of light hitting the tumbled branches, ivy, leaves and so on.

This was inspired by the work of :iconziggyann:
~ZiggyAnn who captures subtle details and candid moments very well. But she seems to have gotten rid of her deviations :(
